Bears may seem to be ferocious animals, however, there are countries where these species are raised under the protection of humans, who establish beautiful relationships that exude unlimited love and friendship with each other.
Picture-perfect example of what “a bear hug” is.
Archie is a loving adopted bear.
It seems that, in Russia, a fairy tale became a reality. Veronika Dichka, a young woman who has conquered social networks with beautiful photographs of her fishing in the company of an adopted bear, in the middle of a lake located in Novosibirsk, north of Siberia.
The friendly furry bear, given the name Archie, does not separate for an instant from Veronika. He is always at her side wherever she goes.
However, his favorite activity is going fishing in a boat with his loving human mother.
Of course, the companionship between bear and human can not take place in large cities, but rather in remote areas, such as Siberia. Here they can move freely without scaring anyone who crosses their path.
This may be evident shown by the great distances between Russian cities and regions such as Novosibirsk, where, apparently, the coexistence of man with wild animals is viable. The truth is that they make a very nice and particular pet in these places.
So, how did Archie and Veronika meet? It turns out that the bear was just a baby when the local zoo where he was kept went bankrupt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The imminent closure of the animal sanctuary meant that Archie would lose his home. The news reached Veronika, who immediately went to the zoo facilities and asked if she could adopt him. The answer was affirmative and the woman had no problem taking it home with her.
“Archie sees me as a member of his family. We share food, he sleeps in my arms when he’s scared, and he’s hiding behind me. We rescued him from the safari park, but we cannot release him into the wild because he has lived in captivity all his life,” said Veronika.
Since the Siberian bear is protected from the dangers of extinction, the brown ones are allowed as pets by the Russian authorities. However, in Archie’s case, his rescue status may have been the bonus that allowed Veronika to obtain special permission to keep him.
The wide variety of species allowed to roam in Eurasian countries is amazing. That is why some people love Siberia, since in that territory it is common to always find sceneries as that of this bear riding on a boat, in the middle of a lake.
“Archie spends every day with us, and he is madly in love with water. He really likes it when I take him to new places, so this photoshoot was a delight for him,” added Veronika Dichka in her post.

All animals, wild or otherwise, are important for survival, especially for humans. The friendship that Veronika and Archie managed to establish is an example of why it is imperative to respect, care for and preserve them for the good of humanity.
Most importantly, Archie looks quite happy in Veronika’s company. Despite the rareness, we see these animals acting as pets, the truth is that Sarah and Archie are the best friends anyone could want to have.
